Restoring a Porsche 911 SC with STASH.
There are few sports cars as iconic as the Porsche 911 SC. With its unmistakable silhouette, analogue driving experience and timeless design, it's a car that deserves to be preserved with the same level of care that went into building it. When this example arrived at STASH it was clear it had spent an extended period sitting idle. Layers of dust covered the exterior, the interior had developed mould and the once vibrant finish had lost its depth. While the car remained a fantastic example, it needed a comprehensive restoration to bring it back to the standard it deserved.
Before any detailing work began, the Porsche underwent a full mechanical service and received a new set of tyres, ensuring it was ready to return to the road once the cosmetic restoration was complete. From there, Brodie began the meticulous process of bringing the car back to life.
Every restoration starts with a clean foundation. The wheels were cleaned using AMMO Plum and AMMO Brute Wheel Soap before the entire vehicle received a thorough rinse to remove the heavy layer of dust from the paintwork, engine bay, door jambs, panel seams and exterior trim. The Porsche was then blanketed in AMMO Foam and carefully hand washed before undergoing a complete paint decontamination with a clay towel, leaving the surface perfectly clean and ready for inspection.
With the contaminants removed, every panel was assessed and paint depths measured before the correction process began. Using the AMMO Sheer Cutting Pad, Brodie carried out a heavy correction to remove years of swirl marks, oxidation and imperfections before refining the finish with the AMMO WAFL Finishing Pad and AMMO X-Foliate Polishing Fluid. The transformation revealed the richness and depth hidden beneath the neglected surface, restoring the gloss that defines a well-preserved classic Porsche.
The attention to detail didn't stop at the paintwork. With the Porsche safely on the hoist, the wheels were removed to provide unrestricted access to the wheel arches, suspension components and inner wheel barrels. Using AMMO Titan 12 and AMMO Frothee, every component was deep cleaned before the wheel faces were polished and reinstalled, ensuring every part of the vehicle met the same exacting standard.
With the correction complete, the Porsche was prepared for long-term protection. AMMO Reflex Pro II ceramic coating was applied across the entire exterior to lock in the finish while providing durable protection against the elements. The wheels were sealed with AMMO Gelee Pro, helping to repel brake dust and making ongoing maintenance significantly easier.
Inside, the restoration was just as comprehensive. Years of dust and mould were safely removed using steam cleaning and shampoo extraction before every surface was disinfected. The leather was then treated with AMMO Mousse, restoring its natural appearance while nourishing and protecting the original hides. The final touches included crystal clear glass using AMMO Obey Glass Cleaner and freshly dressed tyres to complete the presentation.

The transformation was everything the team set out to achieve.
What arrived at STASH as a classic Porsche showing the effects of extended storage left looking every bit the automotive icon it is. The paint once again displayed remarkable depth and clarity, the interior was restored to a clean, luxurious space and every detail from the suspension components to the inner wheel barrels received the same attention.
